‘It’s time’
We celebrate World Tuberculosis Day every year on
March 24 to increase awareness of the public about the socio-economic consequences
of the deadly disease, Tuberculosis (TB). It is an effort to end the worldwide
TB epidemic. World Tuberculosis Day denotes
the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch reported that he had found the bacterium
that causes TB. It has opened the route towards diagnosing and relieving this
infection.Every year the day is celebrated by focusing on particular themes and
the theme for the year 2019 is ‘Its Time’.
World
Tuberculosis Day 2019 theme – ‘It’s time’ - puts the
highlight on the urgency to follow up on the duties made by worldwide pioneers
to:
- ·
guarantee adequate and manageable
financing including for research
- ·
advance a fair, rights-based and
individuals focused TB reaction
- ·
elevate a conclusion to shame and
separation
- ·
build up responsibility
- ·
treat millions of people affected by TB
- ·
create a world without TB
- ·
And a lot more!!!
Till today TB remains
the world’s deadliest disease and nearly 4,500 people lose their lives every
day because of this disease. World
Tuberculosis Day does a lot of help and endeavors to battle TB which has
spared an expected life of almost 54 million since the year 2000. Not only
that, it has diminished the TB death rate by 42%.
The World Health Organization
(WHO) on the World Tuberculosis Day approaches human
service suppliers, governments, influenced networks etc. to join power under
one flag with the objective of creating a great opportunity to put an end to
